I give my number to a a girl and then she texts me next day and when i tx/call she ignores me?

I met this girl at a party on a friday. danced with her for about 45 mins. made my move to kiss her but she moved away, but we kept on dancing. after that i give her my num and kiss her on the cheek and go home. next day she texts me saying "hey ***, this is my num". i text her back later and ask her if she's on facebook. she does not respond. until 3 days later, i decided to give her a call and ask her out for dinner/date. but she does not pick up. she appears really shy to me and that's turn off. any girl can explain this reaction???
